2010 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

02/21 OFTM - Thank you volunteers!

I want to send out o HUGE thank you to all of you who worked at the race today!!  I had visions of the police/fire dept shutting us down when I saw the numbers that were entered today but we were able to pull it together and take care of about 850 runners for the 2 races without too many glitches.  That is only because all of you were there to make it happen! You were fantastic today and I really appreciate all of you.  Now I can take a breath and have a nice stiff drink and relax...thank you all for all of your help!! Jim

04/19 BOSTON MARATHON WAMP WATER STOP - Thank you volunteers!

The Wamps will again be manning a water stop at this year's Boston Marathon under the the leadership of Steve Squadrilli. Nobody hydrates a runner like a Wamp! Group name is Wampanoag and the password is Betty. If you have any questions, please email Steve at at SSquadrilli@comcast.net. He will let you know the how, what, where's and whens of Volunteering.

OCTOBER BAA HALF MARATHON WAMP WATER STOP

The Wamps will again be manning the 4 mile water stop at the BAA Half Marathon.  This is one of the greatest club volunteer opportunities around.  It's a great way to see the thousands of runners who run the 1/2 marathon from the Eliites to the DieHards.  There isn't a more active, supportive water stop on the course than the Wamp Station!   You don’t have to be a Wamp to participate so feel free to invite family and friends to join you.

This assignment is one of the reasons our Club receives the Boston Marathon Invitational Entries, so please help out if you can.  Any questions please contact Roland Desrochers or Sandy Sheehy.
